True Story: The Power of Visualization

You have goals. I know you do. Big dreams, deep longings, and an awareness that it is up to you to make them happen. I know because I’m just like you. Good news! We have tools to help you on that journey. One of the first and most important steps in the Wishbeads program is the act of Visualization. In this video, you can see how my personal experience with visualization brought our new furry friend Eddie into our lives.

Our subconscious mind processes things at a rate much higher than our conscious mind. The subconscious mind thinks in images and feelings, so you are much more likely to obtain a future goal if you try focusing on the images and feelings associated with them.

Scientists working at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at the Institute of Neurology in London have discovered that people who visualize a better future are more likely to be able to bring that future into existence. In the publication documenting their findings, the neurologists wrote: “The ability to construct a hypothetical scenario in one’s imagination prior to it actually occurring may afford greater accuracy in predicting its eventual outcome.”

What do you want to see? See yourself in the future. Picture a moment where your wish has already become a reality. What are you wearing? What time of year is it? Who is with you? How do you feel? Imagine every rich detail. The more vivid you can get, the better it will work for you.

You are essentially putting the pin in the map of your destiny. Like me, you might even see details that you might strike you at first as funny or that you didn’t even consciously know you desired, but because you pictured them your mind is now open to those possibilities.

When done correctly, this simple exercise can take your goals from being vague and seemingly impossible to achieve to being SO REAL you can literally see and feel them come to life.

Seeing is believing. When you can picture your future, your success, you are far more likely to take action towards your dreams and squash those negative thoughts that hold you back. Great athletes do it. Top performers do it. You can do it too.
